Cudd Energy Services and its coiled tubing professionals provide an extensive range of workover services with coiled tubing (CT) from a simple sand wash to an intricate high-pressure well recovery operation.

Cudd's engineering and technology teams continually evaluate new advancements and developments in the use of CT applications, equipment, and technology.

   Equipment

Cudd’s CT units are rated up to a maximum allowable working pressure of 15M psi. Our CT units are suitable for sweet and/or sour service in onshore and offshore environments.

Cudd’s CT rig ups and well control equipment adhere to API 16ST and MMS standards.

Our inventory of hydraulic CT injector systems include injectors that can safely handle 1 inch to 27/8 inch O.D. coil with a maximum pull force of 80,000 lbs. and a continuous maximum snub force of 40,000 lbs. Ensuring optimal performance, all of our equipment is built and maintained to stringent specifications as established by Cudd's Engineering support team.

   CT Support Software

Cudd Energy Services' Engineering support team uses the most advanced modeling software to predict CT string performance and fluid behaviors to optimize the job design.

The integrity of the CT work string is carefully monitored during its life using a data acquisition system and real-time modeling and fatigue software.

Cudd also employs its own CT String database and proprietary CT String Specification programs to ensure each coiled tubing application is conducted within the specific string's operational limits.

Training (IADC)
In 2006 the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) approved the formation of Supervisor (36 hours) and Fundamental (20 hours) level CT training courses. The CT curriculum highlights include CT Well control practices accomplished via the Christmas tree and identifying requisite onshore/offshore job skills and proficiency levels for CT operators.

Cudd immediately incorporated this program and began the CT training courses approved by IADC in 2006. In March 2007, the mandatory IADC courses were added to our supervisor and operator curriculum, which places Cudd well ahead of the industry learning curve.
